The Dream List (Supplies)

Posted by Doug On April - 29 - 2008

Many people have asked what the ride needs other than money. So Susan was kind enough to collate all of the items that the ride coordinators would have in a perfect world.

So here’s the Dream List.

It’s not to replace what each route coordinator has done but is a list for anyone offering to help, but doesn’t have money but may have material goods/resources.

It is a long list, some of it reasonable (like bananas and peanut butter) and others not very likely (like lap top computers for BOD and digital cameras–Hey, we can dream! :) ).

Please take a look at the list and add to it as you see fit but be sure to send your suggestions to myself and Jennifer so they can be added to the list.
Be sure and look at the Rest Stop and Tool section this will be the day-to-day stuff we will need to get either before the ride or via daily shopping.

And as always, thanks for all of the support!

EMS Bike Ride Dream List

Need Some Inspiration?

Posted by Doug On April - 23 - 2008

I just came across this video. I defy anyone to watch it and tell me “I don’t think I could do it”.
“Heart” is every bit as important as strength!

The year of firsts continues. The Ride will see its first Arizona rider and now 2 riders from Ireland have become the first international riders to join the effort.

As the Ride began as a very grass roots / shoestring effort, it’s both exciting and humbling to see the the Ride’s message reach out and draw the interest of EMS professionals outside of the US. When you think about it, it really shouldn’t be that big of a surprise though. We all know that EMS providers from all part of the world are lost in the service of others. We also know that EMSers tend to share the same motivation, pride and selflessness regardless of their race, religion or nationality.

And remember, just because your state (or country!) is already represented, doesn’t mean we don’t want YOU.

Spread the Word!
